2017 in review

2017 was a much better year for us than 2016.

It was busy of course – with three kids and an online business, how could it not be? But thankfully we didn’t have any health problems this year. The medication that my middle child was prescribed in 2016 did the trick and we have her condition under control.

My youngest started school this year and that has helped me find plenty of work time. It is heavenly to get work time 5 days a week after squeezing it in wherever I could for years. I am glad now that I avoided the temptation to sell off one of my websites to ease my workload at the start of the year as I now have enough time to dedicate to them all. It has helped hiring a virtual assistant in the Philippines which has bought me so much time!

I am enjoying my online business. It’s fun having my own sites, improving on them and knowing that I now contribute a lot of extra income for our household. This helped us go on our dream vacation this year – all the way to Down Under! We spent a month over the summer visiting the best spots – we climbed the Sydney Harbour Bridge, walked around Uluru and found Nemo on the Great Barrier Reef. It was a trip none of us will ever forget!

My husband is still working in the same job which is more demanding and takes more of his time than I would like. If my business keeps going well in 2018, I hope he can leave this job and either find a part time one or work at home with me – fingers crossed!

I have been trying to write goals for the coming year but I find that quite difficult. For the moment, I want to just keep doing what I am doing and then evaluate in a few months time if it’s worth starting something new or taking a new direction. I also haven’t decided where we will vacation next year yet, but I am day dreaming about Italy or France. I just need to get the kids on board.

Here’s to a fabulous 2018!
